David Goodspeed, AIA; has focused on his practice serving clients in north Georgia south to Atlanta. The primary practice has designed residential, commercial, mixed-use, religious, and financial projects since opening in 2013. David having significant experience in several market sectors, has supplemented his design service focus to clients in in the K-12 and University Education, Liturgical, Healthcare, Hospitality and Building Envelope/Moisture Consultant markets as well. These potential larger and more complex projects are managed through use of consultants or Teaming relationships with other professionals and architects. “Teaming” and “Joint Ventures” are a normal delivery process with most firms, large and small; tailoring the design team to strategically meet the requirements of a project and owner. These team members include other licensed Architects and Interior Designers, Engineers, as well as specialty consultants as may be needed to provide Quality Architectural Design Solutions. Selected team members share a focus of Quality and Design. They also share an excellent understanding of USGBC, LEED, and NIBS quality design principles.

David’s successful 50+ year career as an Artist, Designer, Senior Architect, Programmer, Project Manager and Technical Leader; has given him experience and knowledge in the Building Tectonics and Envelope / Forensic aspects of the built environment. His leadership has positioned him for this varied market effort, focused on excellence and service. His knowledge and insight into project planning, architecture and design on large and small projects allows a unique opportunity to benefit clients and the projects he is hands on with. His has a deep desire is to give back and share his time, experience and talents to the communities and clients.

During his architectural profession his most rewarding accomplishment has been the contributions to his community. As an Architect he has held the positions of Building Envelope Technical Leader, LEED Envelope Commissioning Agent, Forensic Building Assessment Agent, Specifications Writer and Construction Administrator on many projects. He has authored and negotiated proposals, contracts, and specifications. He is knowledgeable in Professional and Owner Liability concerns and protocols. David’s Building Envelope Initiative leadership helped establish protocol and standards to limit firm liability as well as protect the owner’s liability interest. This also extended the permanence of the structures designed.

As an Architect, David has been labeled “the doctor” striving for the appropriate design solution related to programmatic and code compliance and providing project design and innovative detail solutions, while eliminating the dreaded “change orders” and meeting cost and time project budgets. He has held registration as an Architect in Georgia since 1988. As a mentor and leader in the profession; he has been involved with American Institute of Architecture Mentorship program for young Architects. He also continues to lead staff in project design and development efforts, taking great pride in nurturing younger staff as to the benefits of good design and constructable documents.
