This 45,000SF Call Center project was designed to serve the Credit Union’s members of eight counties along the west coast of Florida. The three-story facility is designed with two levels of concrete structured parking and the third floor “open plan” Call Center. The main call servicing area is designed with a raised floor system concealing under floor HVAC, IT and electrical services. The industrial design employs three-dimensional triangle steel pipe trusses, spanning 120 feet and long span exposed pre-finished steel decking. fire sprinklers and electrical services are concealed in the 1,000-foot radius metal deck barrel roof structure. The facility’s usage of electrical power has been greatly reduced by the northern orientation and three-sided floor to ceiling insulated impact resistant glazing, providing year-round natural light. Offices, training rooms, and employee break room and facilities are located along the southern wall assisting in lowering the building heat gain.
The facility was constructed in 1999 at a cost of $12.8M.

These two Member’s Service Centers are representative of the over 35 that were designed and managed by David Goodspeed, AIA; representing the scope equipped with five drive thru access. the facility to the right is located in the Inner Bay area of Tampa. The site for this branch was a triangular in shape and restricted by an easement along the residential side property line, “Grandfather” live oaks located at the front entry and drive thru lane portions of the building added more conflicts in design but improved the hometown feeling of the facility, located near residential areas of the city. The tree issues combined with the owner's desire to have 40 spaces for member parking proved to be a design challenge. The oak trees required root pruning and pervious walkway paving and site parking to maintain their growth. The building was designed utilizing a building grid establishing order to the building components, i.e.: walls, glazing joints and floor tile layouts. The interior lobby was designed with a twelve-foot-high ceiling with a perimeter organizational site line to again maintain order and provide a space that the members would feel comfortable in and not overpowered by the special volume. The facility was constructed in 1996 at a cost of $850K.
